What Parents Need To Know

We all hope that our children will be safe. We don't want to think of anything bad happening to the people we love. But sometimes we are faced with an emergency. If we can anticipate possible emergencies, then we can prepare ourselves to be in the best position to meet it. Preparing for what to do in the case of possible poisoning can mean the difference between life and death.

To be prepared, parents should plan for and think about:

Have you done everything you can to prevent accidental poisonings from happening?

Can you recognize the signs of possible poisoning?

Do you have the right supplies available in your home if a poisoning happens?

Do you know what to do and who to call if a poisoning happens in your home?

ESPECIALLY FOR RURAL AREAS:

If you live in a rural area that has limited access to emergency medical care, what is your plan if children are hurt or accidentally poisoned?

Lesson Three will help you answer Yes! to all of the above questions.
