ABOUT THIS CONFERENCE:
The Alaska Center for Resource Families, a project of Northwest Resource Associates, and the State of Alaska Department. of Health and Social Services Office of Children’s Services are delighted to offer this opportunity for Alaska’s foster parents, adoptive parents, birth parents, kinship care providers, OCS social workers, professionals, residential providers, tribal workers, and community members who are dedicated to children and youth in out-of-home care and the Bring the Kids Home Initiatives to build community resources and family support to end the need to send our children out-of-state.

Caregiver/Parent Scholarship Application: Priority for this scholarship may be given if you are a licensed foster parent, or a birth parent, relative caregiver or adoptive parent of a youth who was in, currently residing in or potentially needing out-of-state residential care. APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 23, 2010. Scholarship winners will be notified by April 30, 2010. Please read the Financial Agreement carefully.
Hotel Arrangements: The Sheraton Anchorage Hotel & Spa is offering conference participants a special rate of $99 per night (plus tax). To receive this special rate, make your reservations using the information below by May 10, 2010 to guarantee a room.

Guests can access the site to learn more about the event and to book, modify, or cancel a reservation from February 15, 2010 to May 28, 2010.
PHONE RESERVATIONS: Call the Sheraton at 907-276-8700 and request the group rate for the Alaska Families: Weaving a Better Future 2010 Conference, reserve by May 10, 2010 to guarantee a room. The Sheraton will continue to accept reservations after this date on a space availability basis only.
OTHER CONFERENCE INFORMATION:
FEES: There is a $50 registration fee before May 10, 2010. ($75 After May 10 or On Site.) The registration fee includes the cost of the Thursday Luncheon and conference refreshments. OCS Workers can have their registration fee waived by registering by May 10. Foster parents and adoptive, birth parents and relative caregivers can apply for a scholarship to help attend the conference. A group discount is available for agencies registering five or more attendees. See conference registration for more information.
REFUNDS: Full refunds are given to paying participants if the request is made before May 10th, 2010. No refunds are given after May 10th though you may choose to substitute someone to go in your place.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS: CEU registration and certification is available for $25. This conference is designed to meet the requirement of continuing education necessary for re-licensure in Alaska. This conference is approved for 12.25 hours of Continuing Education Credits by the, National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Our provider # is: 1975-118. Northwest Resource Associates is also an NAADAC Approved Education Provider. Our provider # is: 632. Check CEU credit when you register.
