Alaska Center for Resource Families
A project of Northwest Resource Associates

The State of Alaska Office of Children's Services (OCS) has contracted with Northwest Resource Associates to establish the Alaska Center for Resource Families.

The Alaska Center For Resource Families (ACRF) was established to provide training, support, and information to Alaska licensed foster and adoptive parents. ACRF offers a variety of educational opportunities, onsite and distance delivery programs, for families who are wishing to become foster or adoptive parents and on-going training to meet the State of Alaska requirement for foster parents. ACRF has qualified staff in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau who conducts training, provides support and are available to answer questions. For families living in other areas, ACRF provides rural onsite training and telephonic support.

The Alaska Center for Resource Families also provides pre and post adoption and guardianship support services.   Support services are available to families involved in State, Tribal, relative, private, international, pre-and post-adoptions and guardianships.  Services include access to an extensive resource library, Hague compliant adoption preparation training, case management, education, advocacy, support, referrals and crisis management.

For families outside of Fairbanks, Anchorage, Mat-Su and Juneau, telephonic services are available.  Our services are offered free-of-charge and we encourage you to contact us for more information.
