Foster Parenting

The National Foster Parent Association is a professional national organization of foster parents. They have a regular newsletter, access to information and chapters throughout the United States.

The Anchorage Foster Care Association recently assembled and is currently getting up and running.

Foster families must know and follow the Alaska Foster Care regulations. This series called Understanding Regulations: What Alaskan Foster Parents Needs to Know is a way to learn about the regulations and earn training hours while you do it. Located at the website of the Alaska Center for Resource Families.

The State of Alaska's Office of Children's Services has a specific form to use if you wish to file a Grievance Procedure Form because of some action of Office of Children's Services. The form and information of how to file a grievance is listed partway down the list of publications on the OCS website.
