Emergency Preparedness for Families with Children with Special Needs

February 25 6-7:30 pm (light meal provided)

Workshop Description:  Are you and your family prepared for the next emergency? Here in Alaska is not “if” there is a disaster, but “when”. Families with family members who experience a disability face additional challenges in disasters. Come and get information and tools that can help you get ready. All participants will leave with an emergency “SKIP” kit, and the first stage of an emergency plan for their family.


About the Presenter
Lanny Mommsen joined the staff of the Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education in April 2014 as the Health Program Manager. She serves as Project Director for the Alaska Safety Planning Empowerment Network (ASPEN) as well as Project Coordinator for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Health and Disability grant.
