Core Training for Resource Families Session 6: Reunification and Transition
Core Classes: Thursdays, July 23-August 27, 6:00-9:00p.m. (ALL six sessions must be completed.)
Core training for Resource Parents helps you gain a better understanding of the child protection process, the special needs of your children in foster care and your role as a foster parent. It is also a great way to meet other foster parents and hear their ideas about fostering and adopting!
Topics Include:
Session One: Understanding the Office of Children's Services and the Role of the Resource Family.
Session Two: The Impact of Child Abuse and Neglect
Session Three: Separation, Grief and Attachment
Session Four: Appropriate Discipline and Positive Parenting
Session Five: Cultural Considerations and Working with Birth Families
Session Six: Reunification and Transition
