This training is intended for families who are moving toward the finalization of adoption (especially families adopting from the Office of Children’s Services). It focuses on what you need to know about the legal issues of adoption including timelines, getting necessary documents, procuring an adoption attorney, and details about birth certificates, consents, challenges and appeals.

This is not a legal advice workshop. This workshop offers information that pre-adoptive parents will find helpful in moving toward finalization.

**** NOTE **** For a basic understanding of the adoption process, we suggest you consult our publication Adoption: First Steps to Finalization  or contact your local ACRF office to attend the next “Adopting through OCS” class is in your area or ask for our CD training course.
